Amazon’s Crucible Is Shutting Down Permanently
Developer Relentless Studios is shuttering the match after its short-lived lifespan of a few months.
Crucible had a fairly unusual release cycle. First present in beta, the game officially launched and has been met with mostly mediocre reviews. [Crucible’s] enticing characters and their occasionally exhilarating abilities are undermined by the unsatisfying third-person shooting underpinning them.” Relentless Studios chose to”unlaunch” the match following its bad reception, reverting Crucible to closed beta. It was put to finally relaunch down the point, but apparently that’s no longer true.
With Crucible soon to become dead-and-buried, Relentless Studios will focus its own efforts on New World and”other forthcoming jobs” for Amazon Games. Originally scheduled to release before this season, New World has been delayed to Spring 2021.
“We’ll be discontinuing advancement on Crucible,” Relentless Studios wrote in a blog article . “We appreciate the manner our fans have rallied around our attempts, and we have loved seeing your responses to the changes we’ve made over the last few months, but finally we didn’t see a healthy, sustainable future ahead of Crucible.”
Currently, servers such as custom games will last to stay live. But those will close down on November 9 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET. All credit purchases are being disabled and refunds will be made to anybody who’s already made any in-game buys in Crucible.
After discharging closed beta, formally launching, and then return to closed beta, Crucible is officially being shuttered.
